DFS, the sofa retailer, warned today that its full-year profits will fall, after recent hot weather caused order numbers to dry up. Likewise, homewares retailer Dunelm expects to profits come in below last year’s. It flagged weak footfall and costs relating to its acquisition of Worldstores.’

Meanwhile, the sales keep pouring in at Asos – up 22 per cent in the last four months – but bosses think annual sales growth will be at the lower end of market expectations.’
