In 13 seasons as head coach of the McKinley girls basketball teams, Davis guided the Bulldogs to a 20-win season 10 times.

She also coached the two finest players in program history ‘ Ameryst Alston and Kierstan Bell. The two have combined to win five of the last nine Ohio Ms. Basketball awards, Bell winning the last three to become the state’s first three-time winner.

Davis coached McKinley to eight district titles and at least a share of six Federal League titles. The Bulldogs went 25-2 this past season, reaching the Division I regional finals and sharing the league title with state-semifinalist GlenOak.

The Eagles have landed ‘ atop District 10 | Sports

SLIPPERY ROCK ‘ In theory, real rivals bring out each other’s best, then may the best team win on that particular day. And so it was during the annual District 10 Track & Field Championships.

In boys’ Class AA,’Grove City garnered gold, outlasting Hickory, 129-114, while Slippery Rock’s girls secured the AA title, 115 to 104-8 over Hickory.

Grove City’s girls completed a unique sweep, as the Lady Eagles edged McDowell, 130.5 to 114, for the AAA championship.
