Golf teams win with ease at subsections

Both Detroit Lakes golf teams had little trouble defending their Section 8A South Subsection championships at Headwaters Golf Club in Park Rapids Wednesday, May 30.

With the slow start to the season, the playoffs have arrived quickly, but to the players it was just another meet.

‘It felt like just another day on the golf course; we’re playing with some teams that we’ve played many times and this is our third time playing this course, so it didn’t really feel like playoff golf yet,’ said Laker senior Wyatt Blomseth.

No. 3AA Blomseth, along with fellow senior No. 4AA Maddie Herzog, have both been nominated for the Mr. and Ms. Minnesota Golf awards, respectively, and each golfer has led their team at nearly every meet this season.
