Maryland commit leads Millburn girls soccer to upset win over No. 12 Somerville

The Maryland commit scored three goals and sent out an assist as sixth-seeded Millburn pulled out an upset win over third-seeded Somerville, No. 12 in the Top 20. Millburn needed every goal it could get in an offensive duel that saw it outscore one of the state’s best teams in a 5-3 victory.

Maggie Speckhart chipped in with a goal and three assists, while Abby Policarpio tacked on a score for Millburn in the quarterfinal round of the North 2, Group 3 playoffs.

“It was good to see Chloe step up in a game where we really needed her to take her game to the next level in order to win,” said’Millburn assistant’Joe Pulice. “Chloe and Maggie played really well off each other today and overall, everyone stepped up today for us and it showed.
