Quincy boys and girls sweep Homer in Big 8 battle

QUINCY ‘To cap off a spirited 2020 Oriole Week, the Quincy Orioles hosted Big 8 rival Homer to the ‘Coolest Gym in Michigan’ for a pair of key Big 8 conference matches.

Quincy showed why they are one of the premier basketball programs in the conference, as both the boys and girls varsity squads took huge wins over the visiting Trojans.

In the boys contest, the Orioles avenged their Jan. 17 loss at Homer with a huge victory, defending home court while improving to 8-2 in the conference with a 72-58 victory.

Quincy wasted little time going right after the Trojans, opening up the game with a flurry, outscoring Homer to the tune of 19-9 throughout the first quarter.

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) ‘ A 60-day law license suspension is being recommended for Indiana’s attorney general after allegations that he grabbed the buttocks of a female state legislator and inappropriately touched three other women during a party. The recommendation filed Friday with the state Supreme Court puts Republican Attorney General Curtis Hill’s ability to remain as state government’s top lawyer in jeopardy as he must have a law license to hold the position. It wasn’t immediately clear how a temporary suspension would affect his status. Former state Supreme Court Justice Myra Selby proposed the punishment in a report to the court, which will make the final decision.
