From those cars — some driven by moms and dads, others by the students themselves — emerged the athletes who populated Jackson Memorial’s athletic facilities on a delightful, partly sunny day with just the slightest tinge of fall on a refreshing breeze.

At Jackson Memorial, and at most high schools across New Jersey, Monday was the first official day of practice for fall sports — boys soccer, girls soccer, field hockey, cross country, girls tennis and football. The only sports not underway are gymnastics and girls volleyball, fall indoor sports, which were moved to the new ‘Season 3.’ Practice begins Feb. 16, 2021 and competitions March 3.

The Brazos Valley Bombers show us what sporting events look like during a pandemic

BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – Brazos Valley Bombers Baseball is back in the Bryan as Gov. Greg Abbott has allowed sporting events to resume under certain guidelines.

The governor’s guidelines allow sporting events to occur in Texas with approval from local leaders, as long as venues operate at 50% occupancy, and the use face masks is encouraged.

The Brazos Valley Bombers founder and co-owner, Uri Geva, has been working with the Brazos County Health District, the City of Bryan and other local doctors to create a fun, yet safe environment for fans while following the guidelines.

‘We’re making sure that everybody feels as safe as possible and that we’re mitigating risks for our fans, our players and everyone involved,’ said Geva.

With social distancing in mind, football practice returns to Greenville County

On the practice field at Greenville High School after completing a conditioning session Thursday morning, a group of six players and one coach stood more than six feet away from each other and each put one hand in the air to simulate breaking a pregame huddle while social distancing.

Thursday was the first day of football workouts, but in the time of the COVID-19 pandemic it was anything but normal.

Last week Greenville County schools announced a plan to return to fall sport workouts with numerous requirements for the first phase of workouts, which could take three to four weeks.

H.S. sports: Ohio has model in place for switching fall, spring seasons during pandemic – Wilkes Barre Times

The Ohio High School Athletic Association proposal has been circulated via Twitter recently. It calls for flip-flopping several fall and spring sports.

Frank Majikes, the vice president of the PIAA Board of Directors and District 2 chairman, said nothing has been brought up about switching seasons. The first official day of fall sports practices is Aug. 17.

‘I would say it’s too early for fall sports,’ Majikes said. ‘There’s a board meeting, a virtual meeting, next Wednesday. Could it come up? Sure, we have 34 members on the committee. Somebody may bring it up.’
