These cars log the most miles every year

At the other end of the spectrum, the study looked at the cars that averaged the fewest annual miles.

Auto research site iSeeCars.com looked at all 1.7 million 10-year-old vehicles sold between 2014 and 2017 to see which had the most miles on their odometers. The top three and five of the top 10 were large SUVs made by General Motors (GM). Nine of the top 10 were SUVs.

The top voyager, the Chevrolet Suburban, logged an average of 14,299 miles a year — 25 percent  more than the 11,518 miles for the average 10-year-old vehicle. Two versions of the GMC Yukon, the Chevrolet Tahoe and Toyota Sequoia rounded out the top five.

Whose Owners Drive Their Fun Car More? Mazda Miata, Chevy Corvette, or Porsche 911

Cars like the Porsche 911, Chevrolet Corvette, and Mazda Miata are not daily drivers for most owners. There are always a few outliers, but most owners keep these cars for special drives. Drives in the country, back-roads blasts, and road trips. They may also sneak in a little track time here and there. What’s interesting about these three models is that a new study shows that one of them is driven dramatically more than the other two – the Miata.
Our friends at iSeeCars have done a new study looking at which 10-year-old cars are driven the most and least by their owners. Not surprisingly, the vehicles driven most are workhorses like the Chevy Silverado and Suburban

Mazda’s New Engines Will Test Whether Buyers Can Still Stomach a ‘Car’

Showroom visitors in June continued carrying Mazda in a positive sales direction, even as those same buyers continue to shy away from the brand’s car portfolio. Hold on’ that’s not necessarily correct.

On a year-to-date basis, all of Mazda’s passenger cars sit in the red, but the sensuously styled Mazda 6 sedan, fresh from yet another, um, refresh (this one designed to push the model upmarket a bit)’barely qualifies. Since the massaged 2018 model went on sale in April, year-over-year sales increases in that month, May, and June mean the model now posts only a 0.9 percent YTD sales decrease. Almost back in the black, for this year, anyways.

Bonding Through Biking

Damon and his son Logan have been training for the Seattle to Portland bike ride this weekend. Since May, Logan estimates that he has biked roughly 400 miles.’

Last year then-13-year-old Logan Sullivan and his dad Damon biked the 200-plus miles between Seattle and Portland in a mere 15 hours. This year Logan is coming back to the Seattle to Portland bike ride a year older and a year wiser.’

The Cascade Bicycle Club, who puts on the STP, believes Logan is the youngest competitor to ride the race in a single day.’

Intermission.

The Yelm duo start riding in late April or early May, once the weather gets warmer. They start off with 20 or so miles and really ramp it up. Last Thursday they rode 125 miles in preparation for the STP. This is the most Logan has ridden for practice. Prior to this his longest practice ride was about 111 miles.’
