Three New Providence Girls Head to Nationals with Synchroettes Skating Team

NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ – At Tuesday’s Annual Synchroettes National Send-Off Exhibition, hundreds of friends and family cheered for all three national-level teams who qualified for the 2019 U.S. Synchronized Skating Championships. Three of the skaters in the Synchroettes organization, based out of the Richard J. Codey Arena in West Orange’are from New Providence. Amelie Chan and Melody Xu attend New Providence Middle School, while Chloe Fei attends Salt Brook Elementary School.

Amelie, Melody and Chloe are part of the Synchroettes Juvenile level team. It will be all three girls’ first time to skate at a national competition. In addition to hours of on-ice and off-ice team training every week, the girls each spend hours individually working to improve their skating skills.
