TCU Activities Director Chad Johnson said Johnson and Marcussen “will be great leaders for the Titan basketball programs. They were easy choices. Both come with varsity coaching experience, and both are familiar with the TCU program.’They understand as former head coaches your teams change consistently based on who is on the court. How Dani Loeb became the first Alabamian on the US National Ski team

But the 1-inch snowfall, which was the first that Dani can remember in her hometown of Montgomery, wasn’t quite enough to form more than a snowball.

Ten years later, Dani, the girl who usually had to travel to see snow, is one of seven members of the women’s national Aerial Ski Team. She is the first and only person from Alabama to make the US Ski and Snowboard team.

Loeb has gotten used to the shocked looks she receives when she says in her slight Southern accent that she’s from Alabama. The story of how she went from hot, humid Montgomery to snowy, semi-arid Utah is one she tells smoothly now, for it’s one she’s had to repeat many times.

Nevada’s Amanda Levens raves about Fallon’s Leta Otuafi, Manogue’s Kenna Holt

While recruiting Leta Otuafi as a prep player, Nevada basketball coach Amanda Levens liked a lot of things about the Churchill County High star.

But with the Wolf Pack already deep on undersized post players, the Wolf Pack didn’t quite pull the trigger on offering a scholarship to the 5-foot-11 local product.

‘I really, really liked her in high school,” Levens said during a Zoom press conference last week. “We didn’t offer her because we had Imani (Lacy) and Emma (Torbert), who would be in the class right above here. To me, they both were undersized, and Leta is a little undersized, and I didn’t want to bring in another 6-footish post player. We needed to get bigger or different, so that’s the reason we didn’t offer her.”
